Here at SIMCO we enjoy providing information on the plastics industry. We recently created an infographic on the history of plastic. It goes hand in hand with the article in our blog "PLASTIC - THE HISTORY YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW"
The info graphic starts at 1860 with the contest that John Wesley Hyatt started because he wanted a substitute for ivory. That in turn caused the creation of celluloid with was used for dental plates to collars for men's shirts. The graphic ends in the year 1979. In that year Nylon and Lucite was created. Which in turn gave us clothing that is still used to this day.
